Fostering Teams go the extra mile for fostering

Fostering teams across North Wales have been taking part in charity walks as part of Foster Care Fortnight 2019.

From Anglesey coastal walk all the way to the Cheshire border, local authority fostering teams from Anglesey, 香港王中王最快开奖结果, Conwy and Wrexham have been taking part in sponsored walks at local landmarks to raise awareness of fostering and to raise money for The Fostering Network, the national fostering charity and local foster carer associations.

Members of the 香港王中王最快开奖结果 Fostering Team have walked one mile for every day of Foster Care Fortnight. From Moel Famau to Loggerheads, Wepre Park and Flint Castle, from Deeside along the Chester Millennium Greenway. They have been joined by social workers, foster carers and children along the way.

鈥淭here are local children who have had a difficult start in life. Helping these children takes small steps and we are there every step of the way with our foster carers.

鈥淲e need more foster carers in the local area. Children don鈥檛 want to move away from everything they know, leave their friends and have to move schools. Fostering with your local authority means keeping children local and there is a big team to support you, close by. Around eight foster carers retire from fostering every year. We need more local people to take their first step in fostering.鈥�
