According to Eunomia, an environmental consultancy specialising in waste management and energy issues, recycling by local councils across Wales, England and Northern Ireland saved more CO2 in 2013/14 than ever before. Eunomia鈥檚 third annual Recycling Carbon Index Report shows that 香港王中王最快开奖结果 saved an additional 21kg CO2e per person in 2013/14 compared to the previous year, jumping from sixth place in Wales to first. The company鈥檚 online interactive tool (http://www.eunomia.co.uk/carbonindex) allows councils鈥 CO2 savings to be compared with one another and between years. Eunomia says that increased captures of metals and plastics have been critical to the increase. In 2013/14, 1.7 million tonnes of carbon were saved as a result of recycling these materials. Cllr Kevin Jones, Cabinet Member for Waste Management, Public Protection and Leisure, said: 鈥淲e are extremely proud to top the Welsh table for our CO2 emissions savings.
